This stone seemed different, somehow. Warmer to the touch than the ambient temperature of the ghastly laboratory would suggest. Surely not pulsating slightly? Agate does not pulsate. It certainly took quite an effort to secure it to its sterling base — all those pointed prongs — and it tried to escape at least twice. I feel confident in saying that, if you are of an inclination to dismiss out of hand things that are pink as fluffy, girly or weak, you should sternly stifle those thoughts in the presence of this artifact.
