where I’ve been

Wow, it’s been a minute, huh? I’ve had a hell of a year, y’all — and it’s not even lose to over.

So I’ve been plugging along, working hard to make gorgeous artifacts and improve my skills, and it’s been rewarding. I’m currently working on a set of customs for a darling, darkling fae-type, and soon I’ll start making stock for the Tucson Oddities Market (FB / IG) in November! Super excited about this. I’ll be sharing a booth with my dear friend and favorite maker, Shawn of 3Quartermoon Creative. You should come! It’s gonna be great.

Everything is taking way longer than usual, though, because my dad died two months ago, after a stupid accident that probably led to a fatal blood clot, and ever since, my world has been upsetting and depressing and terrible. I’ve been in a pretty dark place since that terrible June day. Some of you might remember that we lost our mom a year and a half ago at Christmas, so I’ve been grieving for both of them, and it’s dreadful and exhausting.

miss you so much, dad

But wait, there’s more! When we found my dad’s will, we learned that I was named Executrix, and I don’t know if you’ve ever shepherded a will through probate, but it’s time-consuming and overwhelming. And if that were not enough, my brother and I also inherited my dad’s business, and jumping through all the hoops to actually take over and start running it is also time-consuming and overwhelming.

So it’s been a rollercoaster of a year. I’m trying to extract all the good I can, and surround myself with loving and positive people, but there are still some days when I can’t haul myself into the light. I super appreciate everyone’s patience and support while I work through my grief and stress.
